There are several ways you can raise money for Butterflies Memory Loss Support Group and every amount makes a difference.

Butterflies volunteers Lorna and Becky joined 7,000 other runners in the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon. They raised an amazing £1,214.43.

The Butterflies Walking Group was launched in April 2014, when members met at East Park for a sponsored one-mile walk around the parameter of the park. The team raised approximately £400.

Dine for Dementia – Supporter Linda Monday organised an evening of literary and musical entertainment, raising almost £1,500 for Butterflies. Smile and Remember to Dine for Dementia was held at Kardomah94 in Alfred Gelder Street, Hull city centre, and the £1,469.45 raised is now helping members of Butterflies Memory Loss Support Group as it continues to grow. Local author Val Wood and poet Audrey Dunne spoke at the event, while vintage songstress Ruth Getz put on a vocal performance to entertain the guests.

How will your money help?

£30 will pay for a day trip for one person. Memory loss can create a huge sense of isolation for both the patient and their carers. Butterflies Memory Loss Support Group provides stimulating and fun social activities that can provide a renewed sense of belonging and offer a degree of normality.

£12 will provide a memory book. Our dedicated volunteers work with our members and their families to create a memory book that can be cherished by the whole family for years to come. Each book carries its own individualities that can stimulate memories and capture time spent together. The books are developed by each family and the journey of completing each page is filed with laughter and smiles.

£5 will pay for simple activity session with a volunteer.
